Catch Up in Photos

So, I suppose I’m not shutting down the operation. But I wish I had more readers! Thank you to you faithful few. So, I haven’t posted anything since Misha’s birthday at the end of May. And I figured so much has gone on, the best way to update would be with your favorites-pictures.

Is thinking about shutting down this operation.  Seriously-I’m pretty sure there’s no one reading this anymore.  Despite my lack of updates.

So last week was Misha's 3rd birthday! I am so happy that she's growing up and becoming more independent. We spent the afternoon with a very dear friend of mine, and her youngest daughter, Lilly, who's almost 5. Here are the two girls. (Sorry that it's a bit out of focus-still getting used to that manual lens...)

I brought her home and set her up on our bed to watch a movie. A little while later it seemed unexpectedly quiet, so I went down the hall and found this.

Poor thing got tuckered right out and wrapped herself in our blanket. This is what she looked like underneath-I thought to myself "That's exactly how she was positioned in my belly just three years ago!"

Later that evening we commemorated the grand event with cupcakes (birthday cake wasn’t until the weekend). Here’s my attempt at some piping skills.

And here's my little pistol getting ready to blow out her candles. I love that little devious look she gives.

We had Scott blessed last weekend too. Here's my little man in the adorable tuxedo my mom made for him for just this occasion. (I've been waiting and waiting to have a boy simply for this outfit-I've seen her make them through the years for others and was so excited that I was finally getting one of my own for my kids!)

Several people came for the event (though some could only stay through church, and others showed up for the barbecue afterward). Here's a picture of those who were there for both church and the barbecue. (Not that I didn't love all you others, you just weren't there for pictures.;)) (Jer's family is to the right, my parents in the middle, and my semi-surrogate parents on the left by me. And sorry-no one informed me that my makeup made me look like a smurf...)

At the gathering for the barbecue we also celebrated Misha's birthday with everyone. Here's her Dora cake.

And here she is blowing out the candle.

All in all we had an absolute blast and are so grateful for all who came and all you wonderful men who stood in the circle to bless Scott. We just wish the two guys who he's named after could have been there too. Thanks everyone for making it a great weekend!

Because I apparently haven’t posted enough pictures.

I was informed yesterday that I haven’t posted enough pictures of my child. Well, that’s because I’ve mostly been too tired to take any. That’s right. I’m tired. Big surprise, right? But, I do have a few laying around that I haven’t yet posted. So, here’s a few from Misha seeing Scott in the hospital (on day two, when I was up for shooting my own photos), and what we’ve been doing around here since he was born. Enjoy. And I’ll take more of him, I promise-especially since I’m starting to feel like a normal human being again….

Oh, if only they’d get along like this forever!

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree….

Scott LaVarr Brown

So here's our little man! For the explanation of why he arrived 2 weeks early, see the previous post. He was born on 4.7.10 @ 15:01 (3:01 pm). He weighed in (mind you, 2 weeks early!) at 7 lbs 14 oz. and was 19 3/4" long. So, had he been born at the full forty weeks, he would have weighed over 9 lbs. most likely. I'm kinda glad he was 2 weeks early! Of course, I think I'd rather have a 9 lb. kid at full term than a c-section two weeks early. I hope to never go through surgery again! I do not recommend anyone getting a tummy tuck. Just live with the pooch-trust me. So, our little Scott is named after two men who have meant the world to both of us (outside our family-of course, we consider them family, but you get my point), Scott Hart (our fire chief from Sundance), and LaVarr McBride (our former bishop here). He is an incredibly mellow kid (much like both of his namesakes are mellow), and gives us a fair bit of sleep. I'll be the first to admit that our children have spoiled us in terms of new parenthood. They've both been good sleepers! Of course, he's only a week old, so we'll have to see how good he is as he gets older. Things have been good though. Aside from the headaches I get a few days after giving birth, I seem to be healing okay. I just have to remember to take it easy and slow-neither of which are particularly easy for me. All in all, we're stoked to have this adorable boy here. Misha is great with him, and absolutely loves to hug and cuddle on him. Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who have visited, brought meals, and kept us in your prayers. Anyway-enjoy the pictures, I'm going to go sneak some quiet time while he sleeps and the other two are out of the house!

37 weeks 4 days-unknowingly two days before I give birth (I have no cankles!)

See how thrilled I am to be having a c-section? Yeah-I wasn't.

Our brand spankin' new little man!

After his first bath. Oh so adorable!

For Those That Didn’t Hear

For those of you who didn’t hear-I’m having a caesarian section performed tomorrow, April 7th, to bring this little boy into the world.  At my amniocentesis today (a procedure now required, at least by my practice, if doing an induction BEFORE 39 weeks gestation-even if by a day, which was my plan), we found out that the placenta previa condition I had that we originally thought had resolved, hasn’t.  And the baby is not head down.  We also found out that my amniotic fluid is a bit low, and that can cause further problems if allowed to get worse.  So, we scheduled to have my c-section done tomorrow at about 1:50 in the afternoon.  So, tomorrow our little man will be brought into the world-stay tuned for pictures.  Hopefully, we’ll have a name picked out by the time he’s born…

Just because

She's so stinkin' adorable and I haven't posted a good picture of her in a while.
